(Off course this is different for everyone. I need an empty key called "DALR6 CRT1600x1200x0x75" Ill post it anyway and try to make sense of it after I return from my job later today: Then some information that I havent figured out yet.
So you might "want/have" to try to do a fresh install without the control panel and then see if this fix works. Perhaps the control panel is resetting the values too. What I forgot to mention iis that I did NOT install the control panel.
I suspect that ATI Poller has something to do with and resets the value "behind my back". I had to change it manually with regedit. When I began to find a fix I tried to alter this registrykey by merging a ".reg" file I made into my registry. The 17th byte is reset after every reboot at your PC. I'll try to understand the meaning of the values this registrykey later today Max refreshrate is correlated to the resolution just as aa004 said. If ATI comes with a fix I intend to do a clean install of those new drievers thus clear the registry before installing those new drivers we are hoping for. refreshrates seem to be correlated with the resolutions. Refresh rates fail to work for 1600/1200, but work for lower resolutions. Just read in the forum, there are plenty of people with this prolbem Ill have a look at it later today when i return from my job. Please let me know how this fix works for you. Say a prayer, meditate or chant your mantra for a succesful cure of the 60Hz bug and/or world peace or whatever else you find important Startmenu -> msconfig -> find ATIPOLL and untag it. Step 3: Disable the automatic startup of ati2evxx.exe (the ATI Poller): In the "DALR6 CRT_MaxModeInfo" look for the 17th byte and change it to the value "A0": Step 2: Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ATI Technologies\Driver\0000\DAL If not install your monitor with the correct.
Step 1: Make sure you have the right monitor installed.
So as always:ĭont do this if you dont know how to change your registry, make backups prior to changing it. You have to change your registry for this. can you please help me check if this works for more people? I know it works on my computer but I dont know if this works for others. This annoyed me so much that I tried to find a solution and. there was no way I could set my refreshrate above 60Hz. Recently I changed my Windows 98 from Cat 2.5 to Cat 3.1 and ever since.
